You ask “Y?” I ask, “Y-Naught?” We Are Not the Same. Let’s Play Super Robot Wars Y

Put your Let's Plays in here.

And with this batch, we're now caught up to today's release. Oof it's been a pain to catch up after all that spam on here, but it's good to have this be live.

Episode 123: Relic of Gold Finale

Time to grab the final relic of Gold. And guess who shows up? Forte! We now have both protagonists!

--

Episode 124: Relics of Mastery/Prowess: Humanity

Time to clear out some Relic Missions. This time we’re taking on the Relics of Mastery and Prowess, taking on the Humanity level difficulty of them. We have nothing but the

--

Episode 125: Chips on Young Soldiers

Chapter 6 has a pair of fun stages. Essentially it's the adults and kids griping about things. This one is the kid's stage. Of course it's funny for the 70s super robot pilots (born in the 1960s) to be claiming to be teenagers in 2026. Still, they complain about the adults griping about them. Still, they show off their recklessness as a positive and save the say.

User avatar
Episode 126: NOAH Brand's Faith

Time to grab some more of the OG story featuring NOAH Brand. Re Sistis continues to have issues leading her team, while we have another wonderfully target rich environment to gain a bunch of levels and even grab some secret requirements.

User avatar
Happy Easter!

Episode 127: Adult Responsibilities

We had the kids complaining about the adults earlier, now we play the mirror episode where the adults are complaining about the youth. It does appear to be different because they reference the events of the kids' stage, meaning we have a different order. Watch ‪Zappa‬ 's version to see the other order.

User avatar
Episode 128: Tactics Research Notes: G03

Our sixth Tactics research stage. We're back in Jaburo for the third time, and we have a very unique challenge. I actually enjoy it greatly, except that I mess up soooooo many times!

User avatar
Episode 129: Beneath Old Memories

Princess Lemuria shows up, because she had a dream that a kaiju would appear that would restore her memories, and allow her to remember about the great calamity from 12,000 years ago. Sure enough, the Kaiju appears, but it sucks a lot of people inside of it where they relive past memories. Yomogi is the hero, diving in to rescue most of the captives.

User avatar
Episode 130: My Song, Your Song

Walkure have a concert and we're providing overflight security. Wulgaru attack up, but it all proves to be a distraction to allow Windermere to kidnap Wakure. Three girls get away, but Frejya ad Mikumo are kidnapped. Hayate goes to rescue them, but he gets himself captured as well. After that, we need to go rescue them, and fight off the combined forces of Windermere and Wulgaru.

User avatar
Episode 131: The Mazins' Burning Blood

Time for a Mazin episode and for Kaiser and Emperor need to get their final attacks, and a combo attack. The entire A. Advent is feeling down. Turns out, we're under the effects of a curse, but there's no physical sign of the source. Y-Naught puts on a festival to drive away the curse. Fortunately, Hadias reveals himself, and we're able to go fight. Once we get to fighting, The insectors show up, as does the mysterious black Shin Getter.

User avatar
Episode 132: Ambitions in Motion

Huge changes and plot advancement for the L-Gaim and Dunbine teams. Giwaza begins his rebellion. Quwasan is reaching the limit of how long she can function while under mental domination, and Tod, Gavlet, and Yazan want nothing to do with this farce. At the same time Shot Weapon (yes, that's a real Tomino name) and Drake are discussing their own futures, while Burne and Rabaan represent the Dunbine side of the assault.

User avatar
Episode 133: NOAH Brand's Stand

Our final battle against NOAH Brand. With this, we're safe from any further encounters with them. A bit of a shame because the huge amount of bosses leads to lots of leveling opportunities. However Re Sistis stakes everything on this fight. Her kamikaze charge is stopped by none other than Re Seivas who joins us temporarily. Sadly, he leaves by the end of the stage.

User avatar
We have a two-parter episode, and so I figured I’d release both episodes at the same time (I totally didn’t just get busy and forget to post Sunday’s episode).

Episode 134: Charge Into The Unknown

The first of a two-parter. The Dinosaur Empire and the Getter Lab have worked together to create a device to let us go to the Insector's dimension. However, to do so, we need to go to a location with lots of red dust, which is guaranteed to spawn kaiju. On top of that, we have a few guests show up.

--

Episode 135: Crusade at the End of Time

The episode that Mewzard has been waiting for me to finally do! We're 2500 year in the future where Musashi leads a galactic war to subjugate all of alien-kind under the banner of Getter Emperor. We finally learn of all the time shenanigans going on, and take on the Insectors and their vile plan.

User avatar
Episode 136: Fallen Hero's Challenge

We get sucked into a dimensional vortex. In there, Caruleum Vaull introduces himself and tells us that he wants us to fight against Dyma Goldwin in the DyGaian. It turns out that Dyma is none other than the former CEO of VTX, Rami's uncle, and the final boss of Super Robot Wars T. We have a quick battle burning through his massive HP stat, and getting another character to level 150 when we defeat him.

User avatar
Episode 137: The Devourer's Challenge

Caruleum Vaull Sucks us back into a dimensional vortex so that we can fight Ende the Devourer. Like last time, Ende is the final Boss of SRW X, and we have some crossover dialogue with the Xelguard and its pilots.

Ende is a damage sponge, but with only a few units around, we burn through his HP easily.

User avatar
Episode 138: Iron Goddess's Challenge

Yet again, Caruleum Vaull Sucks us back into a dimensional vortex. This time it's so that we can fight Iron Goddess Nevanlinna. Like the last two stages, Nevanlinna is the final Boss of SRW V, and she recognizes Nine. Nevanlinna is a damage sponge, but yet again, with only a few units around, we burn through her HP easily.

User avatar
Episode 139: Keeper of Dimensions

This time, we face off against Caruleum Vaull. He told us he'd wait for us, but he sucked us into subspace himself. Good News though, by defeating him, we get him to join us! Unfortunately, he informs us that we're not done fighting the other bosses yet.

User avatar
Episode 140: Rivals Under Suspicion

Annina has discovered certain ex-NOAHs members are holding secret meetings. She wants us to investigate to find out if these meetings are evidence of a secret plot to show that their loyalties remain with NOAHs, and not with us. However, we discover that their meetings are in fact far more benign than initially suspected.

User avatar
Episode 141: The Fallen Hero and Bravery

Dyma Goldwin returns for his rematch with us. To prove that we are the better hero, we take him out in single combat. Combattler V vs. Dyma. We win of course, and Captain Novey bonds with Dyma. They're the same age, and Novey says that he was able to start over at his age. Dyma takes that into account and heads off to a new dimension where he can become a hero once more.

User avatar
Episode 142: The Devourer and Hope

Ende The Devourer returns for his rematch with us. Our specific challenge today is to defeat Ende in a single turn. It ends up not being a big deal, and we wipe out this HP sponge of all of his hit points and claim our victory.

User avatar
Episode 143: The Iron Goddess and Love

Nevanlinna is back for a rematch. Actually, she's happy to not fight as long as we teach her what love it. Of course, humans being embarrassed to speak of their own love and hemming and hawing, causes Nevanlinna to think we're conspiring against her to keep her in the dark. She splits into five copies of herself and we need to 5v5 her.

User avatar
Forgot to post last time, so here's a double header:

Episode 144: On To a Never Ending Battle

We're back on Earth celebrating the alliance between the humans and the saurians. However, it's all a sham! Emperor Gore has allied with the Infernal Alliance. However, Kamui also has his own plans, and he betrays the emperor. On top of that, Echika and Cross had forseen the sudden but inevitable betrayal, and prepared accordingly.

Kamui faces off against us in the BUG that McDonald told him about. Once we beat it, Getter Saint Dragon, released from the Getter Labs, comes down and attacks us.

--

Episode 145: Justice is on My Side

We're finally back into DLC 2. It's been a hot minute since we made any progress there. Exis invited us to a remote area to talk to us about his true enemy, but it turns out, his true enemy is us! Someone call Admiral Ackbar, because "It's a TRAP!"

User avatar
Episode 146: A Guardian's Purpose

The final showdown against Exis. He claims to be a true hero, and that we are the cause of the distortions of war on Earth. He vows to defeat us and NOAHs. However, we soon learn the truth is much darker.

User avatar
We're back after a long hiatus. Sorry about that. Home renovations are a pain and they suck up all of your time and money. I'm still not done, but I can't fall any further behind here. The two halves of this stage were recorded 9 days apart. That tells you how busy I was (and then also got sick).

Episode 147: NOAHS' Upheaval

With all of the losses, that NOAHS has taken, things are shaken up. Ru Negsis stages a coup and takes over the Ra Valian Forces. Drake Luft takes over as the leader of NOAHS, and a traitor is revealed among our ranks. However, it's an incredibly unstable situation that was orchestrated by Izana.

User avatar
Episode 148: Past, Present, and Future

We're stuck defending the ruins while we're under attack. The Infernal Alliance leads the attack with a surprise appearance of Toenko and the Insectors.

The attack focuses on Animus Beast Midolo, and there's a secret enemy that joins the attack later on...

User avatar
Episode 149: Reliquest: Relics of Harmony

We've finally reached Chapter 7, and that unlocked a bunch of missions. We have Relics, Side "DLC" missions, and all the missions unlocked with the expansion pass.

We'll start off with the Relics. We are hilariously overlevelled for the relics, and we burn through them easily.

---

Episode 150: Reliquest: Relics of Gold

We've got more relics to grab. This time it's the next set of Relics of Gold. We have some touching interaction between Cross, Forte, and Echika. It's really cute.

User avatar
We continue the work of catching up after my last break. We're still one week behind. But one week of daily releases will get us back on target.

Episode 151: Contact

Now that we've reached Chapter 7, we're going to completely ignore chapter 7, and work purely on DLC 3. We've got a lot to take care of. First and foremost is the preview stage. We don't actually get any of the units here, we just get preview versions of them so entice people to buy the expansion pass.

--

Episode 152: Space Runaway

We've reversed our normal procedures. Zappa normally starts with the Super Robots, and I start with the real robots, but I have fond memories of watching Ideon, and I love the theme song, while Zappa doesn't. So I get to lead with Ideon.

User avatar
Episode 152: On the Run

Back to the real-ish robots. We have Eureka Seven: Hi-Evolution. I haven't seen the movies, but it's apparently a reboot/compilation/explanation movie series that ties all of the various Eureka Seven media into a single coherent timeline. Eureka is in Warsaw protecting a girl named Iris that looks like a younger clone of herself. She's also really annoying.

User avatar
Episode 154: The Intrepid Angel Smiles

We keep collecting the new characters from the DLC, and immediately pushing them up to Ace. This time, we have Ange as our new guest unit. Turns out she's far more crafty than she lets on. Specifically showing up in a way to get rescued by the A Advent. Ultimately, she wants to join us so she can get what she needs to go back to her world.

User avatar
Episode 155: Enter the Ginga Bishounen

Time for the Ginga Bishounen to enter the stage. We get a little background info about the setting of Star Driver and how they're no longer trapped on their island. Of course, Eureka and Iris continue to be chased by the androids.

It's a fun little stage, and I'm having fun voicing Takuto.

User avatar
Episode 156: Idol and Master

It's time for the final intro mission. We have Idolmaster Xenoglossia showing up and with it Haruka and Imber. She's much better than us at destroying asteroids, although once the enemy shows up, she needs our help to fight them off.

User avatar
Episode 157: Two Eurekas

Now that we've dealt with the appearance of all of the previous DLC series, we move onto the first act conclusion. Eureka and Iris have run into every other team so far on their episodes, and didn't join us on their episode. However, now through a little convincing, and Ange's enhance convincing, we have Eureka and Iris officially join the team, wrapping up the first chapter of DLC 3.

---

Episode 158: Special Mission: Battle Rush 1

We're getting trolled by inter dimensional entities again! This time, Iris, a Keeper of Dimensions appears on the A. Advent Bridge and digitizes us into a virtual world. To be clear, this is a different Iris than the Iris from Hi-Evolution. This one is a fairy-elf that seems to know Caruleum. He chides her for abandoning her duties, but realizes he'd be a hypocrite to push it any further.

We're taken into a fight against 10 waves of strong enemies, and each one we need to clear in a single turn. This is somewhat of an endurance match, but also we need to make sure we pump out enough damage each turn and have enough utility spells to keep us going.

User avatar
Episode 159: Annina's Rage

Annina is angry at what is happening to Echika. Echika is becoming much more independent and headstrong compared to previously. She is very much upset at how we are corrupting "her Echika".

User avatar
Episode 160: Mina's Gift

Another DLC sidestory for chapter 7. Mina's still feeling bad about how she had treated Echika previously. Kallen and Allenby meet her at work, and they for a plot together. Mina knows a small bakery that has a delicious cake. She gets a team of girls and treats them to a trip to the bakery. They also get some cake to bring back as a treat for Echika.

User avatar
I'm finally caught up! It feels so nice. We can go back to every other day releases and stay up to date with Zappa. Phew!

Episode 161: A. Advent Sports Festival

There's been enough fighting for now, and we need something to celebrate. Another Valkurie concert isn't special enough. Instead, we decide to have a Mech Baseball game. Of course, we end up having no luck as we get attacked right before the game can start. Still, it was quite humorous.

User avatar
Episode 162: The Cosmos and the Earth

The Ideon team is completely failing to integrate into life on the A. Advent. Turns out, they think everyone is too soft, and they don't want to get soft when they return to their dimension, and need to fight to protect the Solo Ship. Takuma behaves surprisingly maturely and tries to get them to open up, to some degree of success.

User avatar
Episode 163: Heroes for All

The MJP team is fascinated by the Star Driver trio. The horndogs are horny, the normal two are fascinated by their style, and Izuru idolizes Takuto as a hero. Sure enough, the two team up and they actually play off each other well.

User avatar
Episode 164: Joining the Idols

Haruka joins Walkure to rekindle her previous dream of being an idol, rather than an iDOLmaster. Turns out she can handle both singing and piloting.

User avatar
Episode 165: A Clown Laughs in the Dark

Ange is doing everything she can to not integrate with the rest of Y-Naught. The Y-Naught ladies take this as a personal challenge to get her to open up. At first, Ange agrees to open up if they buy her enough cake, but Echika offers to buy her all the cake she could want. Instead, the challenge is changed to the arcade, and Allenby soundly defeats her.

User avatar
Episode 167: Shining Bishounen, Dark Prince

Takuto and Zero team up to flush out Usurper. The A. Advent organizes a surprise Walkure concert, and like a moth to a flame, Usurper shows up to crash the party. However, Takuto arrives as the Ginga Bishounen to upstage Usurper, and once he flees, Zero predicts where he will go and intercepts him there...

User avatar
Episode 168: Joined Hearts

Back to Idolmaster. This time, Haruka is worried that her actions are what led to the meteors falling on our Earth. She's placed in charge of the defense against the meteors, but her doubts affect her.

Usurper shows up and tried to recruit her, and is even able to stop her finishing move. But instead of giving up, she develops another finishing move.

User avatar
Episode 169: Bride of a New World

Ange gets her time in the spotlight. She bonds a little with Eureka, but then doesn't deploy against Anti-A. She stays in the A. Advent and intercepts Embryo before he can cause too many problems.

Unfortunately, when he leaves the ship, he launches autonomous anti-personnel weapons to eliminate the population of the A. Advent, unless Echika surrenders.

User avatar
Episode 170: IDE's Trial

The citizens of the A. Advent are upset because of the danger they're in. They're seeking new representation. However, the Ideon crew is annoyed at how easy and peaceful their lives are, and they don't appreciate it.

Along the way, they're called back to the hangar. A gun has appeared in space in front of the A. Advent and it's none other than the Ideon Gun. Cosmo immediately volunteers to go on patrol to not have to test fire the gun. It should come as no surprise that they get intercepted by enemy forces.

---

Episode 171: Humanity's Path

We head back to Anaheim Electronics because Char and Amuro have received some new units. Char receives the Nightengale, and Amuro gets his Hi-Nu Gundam. It takes a while for the configurations and combat data to be copied over, and sure enough, we get attacked by Anti-A while we wait. Kamille, Gyunei, and Quess are responsible for defending AE until reinforcements arrive, and until Char and Amuro can launch to join the fight.
