This is part one of two.

Squad time! We’ve got 21+0 deployment slots. All playable characters are solo in this chapter, those being Hatter, Athrun, Yzak, Heine, Selene, Kira, Sheldia, Van, Chief, Shinn, Hilda, Fei-Yen, Lunamaria, Dearka, Waltfeld, Mist, Kazuki, Maya, Kenji, Mamoru, and Sakura. Replace Sheldia with Angelica if you’re on the other heroine route. There are no required deployments. The Fafner cast becomes available during the pre-battle cutscenes, so if you want to upgrade them, do it before the battle.

As you should have noticed, due to the plot, you can only deploy the above characters in this chapter. Feel free to move some characters into the Akatsuki, Strike, or Gaia Gundams if you have Cagalli or Mu in them. Can you guess the commonality between them before the game says?

Technically, Sven and the Strike Noir are available, but I’ll talk about them in the next chapter since they cannot be used here.

Last time, the gang defeated Ispail once and for all and obtained the gate generator, but learned a disturbing fact about their next opponent. They decided to head back to Earth.

This main save file isn’t concerned about the Fafner characters secret, but if you are, make sure you deploy every Fafner character. Kazuki and Maya aren’t included, but they’re good enough that you’d want to use them anyway. You can assume I’m doing this on my Fafner save file.

At the end of the last stage, we got access to Michio, Canon, Gauli, and Bello, who were playable in previous stages, along with new characters Yassaba and Adette. Sven is also now playable despite technically getting him before the previous chapter. I’ll go over their units with the others.

Last time, Yapan’s Ceiling suddenly appeared in Japan, people were seeing pink hippos, and a wild carnival was had by all.

So the Digald Empire, who is trying to conquer the other Earth, has now invaded our Earth as well. Not to mention Edax seems to be supporting them from behind the scenes with gates. Is that the gist of it?
Based on the report we’ve received from Gain and the Exodus, that’s the current theory. Of course, we don’t have concrete proof.
What’s clear is that if we do nothing, both Earths will be conquered by invaders of some kind.
Aren’t Edax trying to destroy planets like they did with Mist’s?
I’ve been thinking about that too. When they attacked Atreem and Bezard, they swarmed us with a huge army and won in a very short amount of time.
But this time, they’re manipulating the Darius Army and Jama Kingdom from the shadows. Their methods are completely different this time.
They’re probably scared because they know they can’t beat us in a fair fight.

First up, the new units!


[GAT-X105E Strike Noir Gundam]
Locked to Sven, it’s a very efficient mid-to-close range MS. It boasts high mobility, great terrain ranks, and VPS armor to deal with physical attacks. Its main feature is that it uses almost no EN except for its best attack, a 1-ranged combo melee attack that pierces barriers. You’ll want to get in close to do the most damage, but its 2-6 ranged guns help a lot with counterattacking.


[Rush Rod]
A bulky Overman. Once its pilot hits 130 morale, it gains a bunshin, which increases its survivability even further. However, it has the worst mobility of all Overmen and its attacks are all close ranged. Its Bellows attack does inflict an Attack Down debuff, which can be useful. Also, its best attack, despite being 1 range, is completely free.


[Dorbeck]
It’s just like the Panther, but with a resupply module instead. Its best attack reduces the enemy’s morale, which can be very useful.


[Deadly Kong]
A bulky and powerful close ranged Zoid. Its main weakness is that it has a really difficult time hitting flying units, so give him a flight part if you really want to use him. The Deadly Kong gains some very powerful weapons later in the game, so keep that in mind. Its ultimate attack, obtained in chapter 27B, is one of the strongest non-combo attacks in the game.

Now that Thunder Garaga has come to the rescue, you can relax! Deadly Kong, let’s go wreak some havoc!


[Bamburian]
A long-ranged artillery panda-type Zoid. We won’t keep the Bamburian in this current form for long, but if you need to obliterate a Bio Zoid at a distance, its 2-7 range attack is a Lio weapon. Just watch its low ammo count and either give Ron the B-Save skill or prepare some cartridges. It also has a MAP, which can be very useful. Great to team up with other snipers like the Emperanza or Mark Sieben.

Zuri is a fortress city boasting impenetrable defenses. Even the Digald Empire would find it difficult to conquer this place…


The first boss of this stage is Souta in his Bio Kentro. Don’t forget that Bio Zoids take less damage from non-Lio attacks, which thankfully the new Zoids have. This isn’t strictly necessary for the grunts, but make sure you’re aware of this before you start fighting Souta.

There’s a plot event that happens at the start of the next turn.

Your classic short-ranged Super Robot. Its attacks are pretty EN efficient, but it has a barrier that activates whenever attacked, so you’ll quickly run out of EN. Make sure to max that out, pair it with a resupply unit, and/or give Nero the E-Save skill. In short, it’s a fantastic tank. Plus, its first attack lowers the enemy’s morale, which is never a bad thing.

Priscilla is also here with a new finisher. Otherwise, she’s much the same as before. Also, the Selius or Selius II (whichever you have) now has the Crystal Heart ability. It behaves the exact same as Mist’s version, increasing stats and attack power once the pilot hits 130 morale.

Whether it’s Digald or the Siberian Railway, I won’t let anyone occupy Gloria!


Did I forget to inspect the bosses because I was frustrated over having Game Over’d twice?

Well anyway, for bosses, we’ve got Kashmir in his Lionnetor, and normal Siberian trio in Under Golames. The other enemy worth pointing out is the fake King Gainers, which are currently poised to destroy Gainer. They have assault combo attacks, so watch out!

Unless you’ve maxed out King Gainer, he will die during the first enemy phase. You need to kill one of the fake King Gainers and move the real one back into your main army. Use Aim, Guard, and Accel on Eldora Soul and move him into the enemies to act as a distraction. All the incoming attacks will raise Nero’s morale to max before you know it.

As almost everyone’s morale starts at 50 instead of 100, not only will your accuracy and evasion rates be lower than normal, but so will your damage. You’ll also take increased incoming damage. Once you’ve saved Gainer, take the stage slowly and focus on building up your own team’s morale.

If there are two Fake King Gainers remaining, Kashmir spawns 4 more of them, with this dialogue playing for the first time.

So the fake King Gainers will keep spawning until you defeat Kashmir or you defeat five entire waves of them (20 total). You can use this as an opportunity to farm EXP and money, but I’ve got things to do.

First up, a single new unit and upgrades for most of the Zoid pilots!


[Soul Tiger]
One of the few land-based Zoids who doesn’t have any trouble hitting flying opponents. We don’t get to keep the Soul Tiger as it is for very long, but it’s decent thanks to its bunshin (which activates at 130 morale).


[Sword Wolf Crusher]
An improvement on the Sword Wolf in every way. It has a new finisher, which summons a bunch of Lanstags to trample the enemy and reduces their morale. It also has additional weapons, but still has difficulty in hitting flying enemies.


[Bamburian Grand]
An improvement on the Bamburian in every way. Not only does it have an S rank on land now, but its bombardment attack now has 8 range instead of 7. Make sure you give Ron the B-Save skill so you have more than six shots.


[Lanstag Break]
An improvement on the Lanstag in every way. The only major changes are increased attack power, stats, and an S rank on the ground.


[Rainbow Jerk Wind]
An improvement on the Rainbow Jerk in every way. It how has an S rank in the air and a natural A rank in space, as well as better stats and attack power.

Deadly Kong also got a new attack, a 1-2 range combo Lio scythe.


Anyway, welcome to the King Gainer finale! To start off, we’ve got the Overdevil, Asuham (in a Dominator), and Zakki in a Golame as bosses. The objective is only to kill the Overdevil, but we gotta take care of the rest for exp and money anyway. Move Gainer back towards the main force so he’s not at risk of dying.

The Overdevil is an interesting boss. Once it hits 130 morale for the first time, it activates Overfreeze, which reduces our accuracy and evasion by a substantial amount and our defense by 20% for all units in 5 squares. It also has HP regen, so make sure to take it out in one turn. Watch out for its massive MAP attack centered on itself. It won’t use this if it has allies inside the blast radius, so it might be ideal to keep one of them alive to prevent this from going off.

Unrelated, but if you see a building with a face on it, that’s the capital building. It’s just there for flavor.

The Black Dominators surrounding the Overdevil are more of a speedbump than anything. Keep one of them alive until the end to make sure the Overdevil doesn’t use its MAP attack. If Sara gets to 130 morale and activates the Jimba’s Overskill, it’ll make all incoming attacks use up more EN or ammo than usual.

Gain’s Emperanza now has the Brunhilde attack, a 1-3 range finisher which reduces the target’s movement. Could be useful in a future stage. Anyway, ignore Gainer and Sara, start fighting the speed bumps, and get Daiya next to the Overdevil!

[Brastle Tiger]
A long ranged assault Zoid like the Bamburian. Like other land-based Zoids, it has trouble hitting flying enemies with the attacks that matter, but it does have a MAP attack. It doesn’t have any Lio weapons, but its best attack does inflict Movement Down. Ti Ze lacks Hit & Away, so he works best as a partner to another long ranged unit, like Ron.


[Molga Canory]
A weak support-based Zoid. It has both repair and resupply, so it’s the perfect partner for any land-based Super Robot. Make sure you buff its defenses so it doesn’t get obliterated by enemy combo attacks. Its best attack, while being range 1-3, does reduce the enemy’s morale, which is never a bad thing (also the animation is hilarious).


[Dominator]
A weird close-ranged Overman. When its Overskill activates, it will always use Shield Defense when attacked, which stacks with its Photon Mat barrier. Plus, it has a bunshin. Outside of that, its defenses are weak. If you want to use it, keep it solo to take advantage of its decently strong combo attacks.


For bosses, we’ve got Georg in his Bio Tricera, Felme in her Bio Ptera, Souta in his Bio Kentro, Zairin in his new Bio Volcano, and Gil Berg in his Gil Gear. The gang is surrounded, so you can either turtle up in the center or split into different groups to take on all the bosses sooner. None of the bosses leave at low HP. The only thing to worry about is that the Gil Gear and Bio Volcano have MAP attacks, so watch out for those.

Even though the bosses won’t move for the first few turns, once they do move, Georg, Zairin, and Gil Berg will zero-in on Ra Kan, Ruuji, and Roll respectively.

First, the first-combat lines.

The Liger’s form that focuses on attack and defense. Mugen Liger has reduced mobility and movement compared to Murasame, but higher firepower in exchange. It still has difficulty hitting aerial units without help from parts. Whichever Liger form you want to use depends on the situation, between the high firepower and defensive but slow Mugen, the speedy but weak Hayate (with a bunshin), or the all-rounder Murasame.

The map ends when all enemies have been defeated.

Three new bosses! We’ve got Woo in Metsa of Tuesday, Carossa in Sin of Friday, and Melissa in Sen of Saturday. Carossa and Melissa are paired up, so watch out for their support attacks and defenses. This does make them vulnerable to combo attacks or you can bait out the support defense with a weak attack.


Ray in his Volcain is also here as an uncontrollable and immortal NPC ally. If he gets shot down, he’ll just revive at full HP. Try not to let him get any kills, but feel free to use him as a tank.
