I think the fact that there are ruins of an ancient civilization is proof. After all, it made me and BX jump straight to Earst. Ruins of an ancient civilization… I doubt that such a thing even exists in the first place… Your mind is inflexible, Captain. Aren’t your Armored Soldiers unearthed from an ancient civilization? Scholars have concluded that they were created in Earst’s distant past. Same with that Evil Armored Soldier. Did you even know if it was an Armored Soldier or not? …That was also created on Earst. If it wasn’t stolen, we would have run a detailed investigation and gotten the same result. It’s not a good thing to think everything’s always the same. What? Shot’s right. Broaden your horizons and deepen your insight, Hy. You and your guards have a lot to learn. The universe is filled with things you cannot possibly imagine, making even the entirety of Earst seem miniscule. Things I can’t possibly imagine… That’s right. My homeland, the Vorder Kingdom, was a peaceful place ruled by the Vorder family and had a long history of over 3000 years. But Mardoul appeared one day and set the entire town and castle on fire. The nation collapsed overnight.
So that’s what happened… After Mardoul killed the King, I escaped with my grandson, Jojo. That’s why we can’t ever forgive Mardoul. I was separated by my comrades back then. I never thought Slarzen would become one of Mardoul’s commanders…
Azuves, in your opinion, is this Slarzen trustworthy? I’d bet my life on him. That’s the kind of person he is. He was a man whose loyalty never wavered, and his courage earned him the respect of every soldier. So, can you start heading to Austral Island?

So they want us to go to Austral to distract Drake’s main force? Yes. Even though the HRL is part of the Federation, it still has the same leadership as before(TL Note: During the events of Gundam 00, the Human Reform League, the Advanced European Union, and the Union were pretty much in a hostile stalemate.)
By achieving results, we can increase our influence within the Federation. To achieve this, we must use any means necessary… I won’t deny that would be in character for my country, but that doesn’t mean everyone feels that way. I’m positive this isn’t some sort of trap.
That being said, there are still many people who see us as their enemy.
There may be spies around you who will report your movements and information to Mardoul or Drake. I know all that! But this is important! I beg you, even if it means bowing my head in the name of the Chesilenko and Smirnov families!

Everyone, our priority isn’t to defeat the enemy, but to survive until help arrives. So, you didn’t flee in the face of such a large army. I’ll get my revenge for what you did to us on Earst.

The objective is to defeat Ranvel in a one-on-one duel. He and his Zauel are fearsome opponents. Chances are, he’ll block most of your attacks with his shield and two-tap Jojo. Use the terrain to your advantage and rely on Focus to avoid his attacks.

Hy Optional #2 and #3
Do not have Jojo be defeated by Ranvel.
Defeat Ranvel with Jojo.
The first one is easy enough, it’s the second one that you might not be able to do unless you invest heavily into Jojo. Even in my NG+ file with all of Jojo’s upgrades at 50%, I wasn’t able to get Ranvel to half health before the plot continues. You don’t need to get all of the optional steps. You can miss up to two of them, and the other ones are extremely easy to get, so don’t worry if you can’t defeat Ranvel in the duel.
Such spirit at such a young age! No wonder Hy Shaltat had so much trouble with you! I honed my skills by fighting the Mardoul Army! I use my sword to bring back peace!
